Salt Reduction

Reducing salt consumption is a key factor in promoting overall health and well-being as high salt intake is associated with increased risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends reducing salt intake to less than 5 grams per day for adults to help lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of these health problems.

Many countries are implementing policies and initiatives to reduce salt intake, such as labeling laws, educational campaigns, and taxes on high-salt products, and the food industry is reducing the salt content in products, offering low-salt alternatives and using other ingredients to enhance flavor, such as herbs, spices, vinegar, yeast extracts, and natural flavors.

Biorigin is committed to promote people´s health and well-being and developed a wide range of natural-origin ingredients that compensate the lack of taste of salt-reduced formulations.
